The centre aims to promote Ottawa’s economy, through the development <strong>of</strong> products andservices that encourage entrepreneurship and support business growth. The <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> Ottawa, the OntarioMinistry Enterprise and Innovation, the Royal Bank, Nelligan O’Brien and numerous other businesspartners fund the Centre. The Centre provides links to other business organizations, seminars andentrepreneurial events, online training and many other tools and resources to assist budding entrepreneurs.BizPal – an initiative that has been developed with a lead group <strong>of</strong> government partners to providebusinesses with a way to identify the entire permit and license requirements at one time.The Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) is a not-for-pr<strong>of</strong>it organization supported by over600 members. OCRI builds on the strengths <strong>of</strong> the region to advance research and development, lifelonglearning, pr<strong>of</strong>essional development and community infrastructure.Ottawa Global Marketing, a division <strong>of</strong> OCRI works with the private sector and all three levels <strong>of</strong>government to attract investment, people, and companies to the region. It is a lead organization in thebranding and marketing <strong>of</strong> Ottawa internationally.The Ottawa Capital Network (OCN) assists in creating efficiencies in the capital market through programsaimed at educating the entrepreneurial community, creating linkages among the investment community andproviding knowledge and support to the business community.2007 Ottawa Small Business Forum – a unique learning and networking opportunity that focuses onsupporting the success and growth <strong>of</strong> Ottawa’s small and medium size businesses. The Forum strives toprovide entrepreneurs in growth mode with access to relevant and reliable information.Ottawa.com web site: - developed to position itself as the “<strong>of</strong>ficial” source <strong>of</strong> information on Ottawa, whichwill be achieved through prominent positioning <strong>of</strong> the site on major search engines.
