Intended to assistproperty owners with the financing <strong>of</strong> building improvements requiredto bring existing older buildings into compliance with the currentOntario Building Code. It will provide a grant for up to 50%<strong>of</strong> thecosts for eligible work per building to a maximum <strong>of</strong> $5,000 permunicipal street address or storefront. There is a maximum <strong>of</strong>$45,000 per property owner for a building with multiple streetaddresses or storefronts.Signage Program. Assist business owners with financing thedesign and installation <strong>of</strong> new signage within the CommunityImprovement Plan area. Provides a grant equivalent to 50% <strong>of</strong> thecost, up to a maximum <strong>of</strong> $2,000Façade Improvement Grant Program. Provides a grant for up to50% <strong>of</strong> the costs for eligible work per building to a maximum <strong>of</strong>$5,000 per municipal street address or storefront. There is amaximum <strong>of</strong> $45,000 per property owner for a building with multiplestreet addresses or storefronts.Building Permit Grant Program: Provides a one time grant to<strong>of</strong>fset the amount <strong>of</strong> the building permit fee to a maximum <strong>of</strong> $3,000Infill Project Grant Program: Assist property owners within theCommunity Improvement Plan area with financing the cost <strong>of</strong> thedevelopment process. The program allows the <strong>Municipal</strong>ity <strong>of</strong>Clarington to provide a one time grant to <strong>of</strong>fset the cost <strong>of</strong> theconstruction to a maximum <strong>of</strong> $10,000 per property.Economic Development Programs368
