<strong>Municipal</strong> <strong>Study</strong> <strong>2011</strong>Business Retention & Expansion ProgramsWhitchurch-StouffvilleThe Town began the BR&E Visitation Process in January 2007 and has since, completed 97 individualbusiness interviews. The project has focused on retaining and growing existing businesses and downtownrevitalization. The project was conducted in partnership with the Province <strong>of</strong> Ontario, Region <strong>of</strong> York,Whitchurch-Stouffville Chamber <strong>of</strong> Commerce and the Stouffville Business Improvement Area.Rural Development Consultations – These are used to identify appropriate and realistic ways in whichrural areas can participate in the Town’s overall economic growth – for example, fostering ecotourism,entrepreneurship and agribusiness.General promotion for both business and tourism attraction.
