Attempts to make repairs withinthis time frame may void the warranty.X-Rite provides a factory repair service to their customers.Because of the complexity of the circuitry, all repairs should bereferred to the factory or an authorized service center(call: 1-888-826-3059).X-Rite will repair any instrument past warranty. The customershall pay shipping cost to the factory or authorized servicecenter and repair cost. The instrument shall be submitted in theoriginal carton, as a complete unaltered unit.6.1.1 Reading Lamp Replacement InformationDue to the circuit complexity and test equipment required, theread lamp should only be replaced by X-Rite or anauthorized X-Rite Service Center.The lamp is monitored for intensity, and failure warnings willbe displayed if a problem occurs.6.2 Cleaning the InstrumentYour instrument requires very little maintenance to achieveyears of reliable operation. However, to protect yourinvestment and maintain reading accuracy, a few simplecleaning procedures should be performed from time to time.6.2.1 General CleaningThe exterior of the instrument may be wiped clean with a clothdampened in water or mild cleaner whenever required.NOTE: DO NOT use any solvents to clean the instrument; this causesdamage to the cover.6-1
