Bedford County Department of Fire & Rescueconsists of all career members and over 750 volunteer members who serve in all facets ofFire and EMS operations. Bedford County Fire & Rescue is making great strides in itsdevelopment. The County has worked to ensure standardization in major purchases suchas apparatus, bunker gear and cardiac monitoring and equipment replacements and thatsuch items are addressed in a master improvement plan. Annual fire academies and EMSRescue Institutes are conducted to provide the best education practical and a system widemedical director is in place.
