In this exercise, you will start a non-default server instance <strong>with</strong> a port offset of 10, deploy<br />

the application jsp-examples-war obtained from the Community Edition samples for<br />

version 2.1.1.2,<br />

Part 1 - Start a non-default server<br />

Procedure<br />

1. While the server is stopped, follow the procedure described in section 9.3.2 to<br />

change the default naming port. In the file<br />

/var/config/config-substitutions.properties, the<br />

PortOffset entry should look like the line below:<br />

PortOffset=10<br />

2. Start the server using this syntax: ./startup.sh<br />

Part 2 - Deploy the application to Community Edition<br />

Procedure<br />

1. Log on to the Community Edition Console <strong>with</strong> the username system and<br />

password manager.<br />

2. On the left navigation panel, select <strong>Application</strong>s → Deploy New to open the Install<br />

New <strong>Application</strong>s portlet.<br />

3. Click Browse (besides the Archive field), and select<br />

/applications/jsp-examples-war/target/jspexamples-war-2.1.1.2.war.<br />

4. Select /applications/jsp-exampleswar/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/geronimo-web.xml.<br />

5. Click Install.<br />
