MWFA TO HOST FASTENER TRAINING WEEK IN AUGUST<br />
The MWFA will host the industry acclaimed<br />
Fastener Training Week beginning August 22, <strong>2016</strong>.<br />
The Fastener Training Institute (FTI) and the Industrial<br />
Fasteners Institute (IFI) will co-produce the event. This<br />
full-week fastener training class offers advanced<br />
technical education for fastener professionals and end<br />
users.<br />
Fastener Training Week features learning labs<br />
taught by leading industry experts, Carmen Vertullo CFS<br />
(Carver Consulting), Salim Brahimi (IBECA<br />
Technologies) and Laurence Claus (NNi Training and<br />
Consulting), along with interactive exercises, quizzes to<br />
reinforce learning, and plant tours of manufacturing,<br />
secondary processes and testing facilities.<br />
Fastener Training Week is a five-day intensive<br />
ASSOCIATION ARTICLE<br />
version of FTI’s acclaimed Certified Fastener<br />
Specialist advanced technical training program. Upon<br />
completion of this training and passing a final exam,<br />
attendees will be eligible to receive the Certified<br />
Fastener Specialist (CFS) designation.<br />
The FTI and IFI will now produce four Fastener<br />
Training Week sessions in <strong>2016</strong>. Two at the IFI<br />
headquarters near Cleveland plus one in Los Angeles<br />
and now Chicago. There are currently over 450<br />
graduates with CFS certification.<br />
We are pleased to have the support of the MWFA<br />
Board of Directors and Nancy Rich, their Executive<br />
Director, in bringing this great class to Chicago.<br />

and FTI websites soon.<br />

ITR ECONOMICS ADDRESS NEFDA<br />
The NEFDA held an economic forecast<br />
summit on November 5, 2015 at the Salem<br />
energetic discussion with Connor on the state<br />
of the economy, the impact the upcoming<br />
