Remembering Robert (Bob) Truckey Sr.<br />

We are saddened to report the passing of<br />

Robert (Bob) Lee Truckey Sr., age 85, on<br />

September 25, 2015.<br />

Bob was born to the late Joseph and Eva<br />

Truckey in Three Rivers, Michigan, on March 4,<br />

1930. He was the oldest of six boys and forever<br />

will be remembered by his devoted brothers:<br />

Joseph, James, Jerry, and John. William preceded<br />

him into death.<br />

He left home at the age of 17 to join the Air<br />

Force. Later, he moved to California and worked in<br />

the transformer industry. In 1975 he started his<br />

own company, Cal-Fasteners, Inc. He and his wife,<br />

Colleen, worked together to make this a thriving<br />

corporation, along with their two sons.<br />

Bob was blessed to have a large family. He<br />

married Colleen Vander Haag, on March 1, 1957<br />

in Los Angeles, California. Bob left behind six<br />

children: Marilyn Goodwin; Barbara Bonenfant<br />

along with husband, Mark; Robert Truckey Jr. and<br />

wife, Susan; Joseph Truckey and wife, Jennifer;<br />

Michelle Reitmeyer and husband, Darryl; and<br />

Laurie Green and husband, Donald.<br />

Robert had 19 grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren,<br />

and two great-great-grandchildren.<br />

He was known by his family as a man of strength,<br />

wisdom, character, and love.<br />

Bob loved sports and was an avid golfer. He<br />

was a Detroit Tiger fan, following Michigan sports<br />

his entire life. He also managed little league<br />

baseball for a number of years.
