MACLEAN-FOGG PASSES PRESIDENTIAL<br />

TORCH TO NEXT GENERATION<br />

Barry L. MacLean, chief executive officer and chairman<br />

of MacLean-Fogg, announced the appointment of Duncan<br />

A. L. MacLean to president of MacLean-Fogg effective<br />

August 15, 2015. Duncan MacLean will remain president<br />

of MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions and, on October<br />

15, 2015, will assume the role of president of MacLean<br />

Power Systems. Tom Smith, current president of MacLean<br />

Power Systems, will be stepping down on October 15,<br />

2015. Tom Smith will remain<br />

a close advisor to the<br />

company and will be<br />

committing time to support<br />

MPS. Additionally, Tom Smith<br />

has been appointed to vice<br />

chairman of the MacLean-<br />

Fogg Board of Directors,<br />

where he has served for five<br />

years. Barry MacLean stated,<br />

“Tom’s leadership and<br />

knowledge of the utility<br />

markets worldwide are critical<br />

to the long-term growth of MacLean-Fogg.” Duncan<br />

MacLean said, “The many synergies of MacLean Fogg’s<br />

manufacturing methods and operations represent a strong<br />

foundation upon which to continue to invent new products<br />

and offer our customers solutions to meet their needs.”<br />

Barry MacLean commented that Duncan MacLean is<br />

the fourth generation of the MacLean family to lead the<br />

MacLean-Fogg company. “Timing is of significance,” said<br />

Barry MacLean, “since this transition is occurring in the<br />

celebratory year of our 90th anniversary of private<br />

enterprise.” MacLean-Fogg was founded in 1925 by John<br />

A. MacLean. With five employees in rented space on<br />

Kildare Avenue, the company manufactured one<br />

specialized fastener for the nation’s railroads. John A.<br />

MacLean, Jr. became president in 1931 and developed the<br />

company into a broader supplier for the railroad<br />

marketplace.<br />

In 1961, Barry MacLean joined MacLean-Fogg and<br />

became president and chief executive officer in 1972.<br />

Today, the company operates 35 global manufacturing<br />

facilities with annual sales in excess of one billion dollars<br />

and a workforce of over<br />

3,500. MacLean-Fogg<br />

manufactures engineered<br />

metal and plastic<br />

components for the industrial,<br />

automotive, truck and military<br />

markets, and hardware and<br />

devices for use in the<br />

transmission and distribution<br />

of energy, as well as<br />

telephone and cable<br />

infrastructures. MacLean<br />

Power Systems and MacLean<br />

Fogg Component Solutions are two go-to market<br />

identification names. MacLean Power Systems,<br />

headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina, manufactures<br />

patented and trademarked insulation and protection<br />

products, connectors and pole line fastening systems.<br />

MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions, headquartered in<br />

Mundelein, Illinois, manufactures patented and<br />

trademarked power train components for automotive<br />

transmissions, specialty fasteners, plastic assemblies,<br />

and suspension elements.<br />

Barry L. MacLean will remain as chief executive officer<br />

and chairman of MacLean-Fogg, headquartered in<br />

Mundelein, Illinois.<br />
