VOLT: MAKING CHANGES FOR THE FUTURE<br />
A family owned company, Volt Industrial Plastics is<br />
located in beautiful northern Arkansas in an area called the<br />
Ozarks. The last couple of years have been a time of<br />
change and growth for our company. We relocated from our<br />
original location to a much larger facility in 2012,<br />
revamped and updated our website, and are in the process<br />
of replacing and adding to our production capacity.<br />
This extra room has allowed us to purchase new<br />
equipment, including new Arburg molding machines. We<br />
are currently replacing molding machines with newer<br />
technology, and updating the production floor is<br />
streamlining our processes. That alone has allowed Volt to<br />
increase production and ability to supply customers,<br />
keeping lead times to a minimum. The extra room also<br />
gave us the capacity to mold larger parts, thus increasing<br />
our versatility in serving our customers.<br />
Our current facility is nearly three times the size of the<br />
old, going from about 25,000 square feet to 68,000<br />
square feet. This new building has not only given Volt<br />
plenty of room for expansion but more room for inventory.<br />
Increasing inventory has allowed us to fill customer orders<br />
quickly, offer same day shipping, and reduce lead times<br />
down to days if the product is not in inventory.<br />
Our new tool lead times have also been on the decline<br />
thanks to adding new equipment. Depending on the<br />
difficulty of the part, the lead times are as little as one to<br />
two weeks.<br />
Our new website has a more modern look and<br />
features a responsive design, making it compatible with<br />
mobile devices like smart phones and tablets. New<br />
products are added to the site on a regular basis, and we<br />
have added links to our Facebook and Twitter pages. We<br />
also take advantage of Facebook and Twitter to connect<br />
with our employees and customers, keeping touch in a<br />
more personal way. To keep our employees up-to-date<br />
about what is happening with Volt and each other, we<br />
instituted a monthly company newsletter, VIP Nuts & Bolts,<br />
to which employees regularly contribute content about<br />
children and family members.<br />
Volt Industrial Plastics was founded on old-fashioned<br />
values like customer service and quality. We have not only<br />
continued to maintain those values, but we are moving<br />
forward with new technology so we can serve our<br />
customers in an efficient manner that allows us to<br />
maintain high standards of quality. Here at Volt we are<br />
excited about what the future brings and we are looking<br />
forward to the challenges that new technology will present.<br />
We feel that we can combine Innovation with our high<br />
standards of quality to present customers with the service<br />
they have come to expect.<br />
