The Winning of The Carbon War
As I rattle out the story at machine-gun pace, I clock that the talk-amongourselves
syndrome is not spreading from the one table at the back of the hall.
People are listening. Bemused looks and smirks aplenty, but they are listening.
I conclude. Profound change I can guarantee you, these next ten years, in
energy markets. The specifics are difficult to predict, given the multiple variables,
and anyone who pretends otherwise is delusional. But the generalities are clear.
For the fossil fuel incumbency, problems will grow, opportunities will decline.
For the clean-tech insurgency, problems will decline, opportunities will soar.
I invite you, therefore, to join the revolution.

though he must have hated almost every word I uttered.
