1.2.1 Terms<br />
– Accompanied<br />
When used for children and infant fares this<br />
shall mean the child/infant must be<br />
accompanied by an adult paying an applicable<br />
adult fare or travelling at industry free or<br />
reduced fare tickets.<br />
– Add-on<br />
An amount used only to construct an<br />
unspecified through fare or a mileage distance<br />
used to construct an unspecified maximum<br />
permitted mileage.<br />
– Adult<br />
A person who has reached his/her 12th<br />
birthday (18th birthday via CO) as of the date<br />
of commencement of travel.<br />
– Advance Purchase Period<br />
via 6Y/TR/VW/VX The minimum period before<br />
departure (including the day of departure) by<br />
which reservations, full payment and ticketing<br />
must be completed.<br />
– Agent<br />
An entity appointed by the carrier to make<br />
sales on its behalf.<br />
– <strong>Air</strong>line, Issuing<br />

– Allowance, Free Baggage<br />
The baggage which may be carried without<br />
payment of a charge in addition to the fare.<br />
– Applicable fare<br />
The normal or special fare to be applied by<br />
taking <strong>into</strong> account all conditions relating to the<br />
passenger and his/her travel.<br />
– Assembly point<br />
A point in the itinerary where the entire<br />
qualifying group assembles and commences<br />
transportation as a group.<br />
– Baggage<br />
The equivalent to the term luggage’, means<br />
such articles, effects and other personal<br />
property of a passenger as are necessary or<br />
appropriate for wear, use, comfort or<br />
convenience in connection with his trip. Unless<br />
otherwise specified, it includes both checked<br />
and unchecked baggage of the passenger.<br />
– Baggage Check<br />
Those portions of the ticket which provide for<br />
the carriage of Passenger’s checked baggage<br />
and which are issued by carrier as a receipt for<br />
the passenger’s checked baggage.<br />
– Baggage, Checked<br />
The equivalent to ‘registered luggage’, means<br />
baggage of which the carrier takes sole<br />
custody and for which carrier has issued a<br />
baggage check.<br />
– Baggage, Excess<br />
That part of baggage which is in excess of the<br />
baggage which may be carried free of charge.<br />
– Baggage Tag<br />
A document issued by the carrier solely for<br />
identification of checked baggage, the<br />
baggage (strap) tag portion of which is<br />
