There’s a time and a place for bragging. Outreach isn’t it. Focus on why this email is going<br />

to help its recipient, and forget the rest.<br />

INCLUDE A CALL TO ACTION<br />

You’re busy. You don’t have time to handcraft a unique<br />

email for each recipient. I get that. But do you know what?<br />

Your recipients are busy, too. They don’t want to read<br />

detailed sales pitches from strangers.<br />

ALWAYS PROOFREAD<br />

Spelling or grammar mistakes make you look, at best, lazy.<br />

Always, always proofread your emails. Small mistakes might seem insignificant to you but<br />

they could be the deciding factor in whether or not your recipient replies.<br />

It’s also not uncommon for marketers to get the names of recipients wrong (I’ve been on<br />

both ends of this one) which makes names (of people and companies) another thing you<br />

should always double check when proofing.<br />
