Marina Sorbello<br />

A curator, journalist and <strong>art</strong>-critic based in Berlin, Germany. She writes for publications<br />

such as The Art Newspaper, London, Tema Celeste, Milan, and the daily newspaper Il<br />

Manifesto, Rome. Among her current projects are the exhibition “This Land is My Land”<br />

(Kunsthalle Nurnberg and NGBK - Neue Gesellschaft fuer Bildende Kunst, Berlin, 2006),<br />

and the itinerant film and video exhibition “Transient Spaces” (in cooperation with the<br />

Goethe Institut, different venues, 2007). In 2005 she conceived and organized with A.<br />

Weitzel the international conference “KLARTEXT! The Status of the Political in Contemporary<br />

Art and Culture”, (Kuenstlerhaus Bethanien and Volksbuehne am Rosa Luxemburg Platz,<br />

Berlin, 2005, www.kl<strong>art</strong>ext-konferenz.net). She is co-founder and member of UQBAR -<br />

Gesellschaft für Repräsentationsforschung e.V., an <strong>art</strong>istic and cultural structure operating<br />

in and from Berlin.<br />

Doris Rothauer<br />

Born 1961, based in Vienna, Austria. She is an economist, working since 1986 as a cultural<br />

manager, curator and adviser on the topic of connections and intersections between <strong>art</strong><br />

and economics, as well as on the general field of the contemporary visual culture. She<br />

used to work for the MUMOK – Museum moderner Kunst Wien, Wiener Secession, as well<br />

as for the festivals Wiener Festwochen and steirischer herbst. She was the Director of<br />

Künstlerhaus Wien in the period 1997-2002. She has published numerous publications,<br />

among which Struktur & Strategie im Kunstbetrieb. Tendenzen der Professionalisierung<br />

(WUV Verlag, Wien 1996, edited together with Harald Krämer), Third Places. Fußball,<br />

Videospiele, Musikvideos in Graz-West (REVOLVER Archiv für aktuelle Kunst, Frankfurt/<br />

Main 2004, edited together with steirischen herbst Graz), and Kreativitat und Käpital.<br />

Kunst und Wirtschaft im Umbruch (WUV Verlag, Wien 2005). She is currently engaged as<br />

a lecturer at the Vienna University of Applied Arts. Since January 2006 she has directed<br />

BÜRO FÜR TRANSFER, a consulting agency for companies and project management in<br />

the domains of knowledge transfer and creativity between <strong>art</strong>/culture and economics.<br />
