Doughnuts<br />
Did you know there is a National Doughnut Day? It's<br />
celebrated on the first Friday of June each year, primarily<br />
by Americans who love eating their sugary and jam-filled<br />
treats to the extent that the country consumes over 10<br />
billion doughnuts each year. The city that has the most<br />
doughnut shops in America? Boston.<br />
Oreo<br />
Twist it. Lick it. Dunk it. Eat it. That's the way to consume an<br />
Oreo cookie alongside a cold glass of milk. These cookies<br />
have been around since 1912 and naturally, there's bound to<br />
be odd flavours such as watermelon, root beer float and of<br />
course, there's a pumpkin spice Oreo.<br />
Twinkies or Twiggies<br />
Americans are more familiar with Hostess' Twinkies while Malaysians are familiar<br />
with a similar vanilla cream-filled sponge cake known as Twiggies from Gardenia<br />
Bakeries. But did you know that the iconic vanilla cream inside a Twinkie was initially<br />
banana cream? Due to food rationing during World War II, the change was made<br />
to vanilla and for a very long time, it stayed that way due to popularity. However,<br />
in 2007, the banana cream version was reintroduced to shelves. As for the Malaysian<br />
version, apart from vanilla, there're also chocolate, raspberry and tiramisu flavours.<br />
French Fries<br />
Now, this is a classic. If you<br />
haven't eaten one, you should.<br />
Because you'll eat another one<br />
and another one and another one<br />
and who's counting? Because<br />
have you heard of the story of the<br />
guy who only ate one fry? No?<br />
Neither have we. Fun French Fry<br />
Fact: French Fries are not called<br />
that in France. They are known as<br />
frites, patates frites or pommes<br />
