Yes. My last island trip was to Mykonos and Santorini. The<br />
Greek islands spread around the Aegean Sea is incredibly<br />
beautiful. The place is part of an ancient civilisation that is<br />
so rich in history that it excites me further to learn from the<br />
past. Food and culture is an important skill for me in my<br />
career, so I would love to return and explore more of its<br />
natural beauty and inhabitants.<br />

As I travelled more over the years it made<br />
me realise how small the world is. Food<br />
has always been the bridge that connects<br />
everyone out there across all cultures of<br />
the world. Through food, we always find<br />
love, friendship, happiness, peace and<br />
respect. So, it is important to travel to<br />
see the less fortunate out there and to<br />
be able to compare how blessed we are<br />
to always have more. Therefore, we must<br />
also learn to exercise more love,<br />
compassion and empathy by sharing and<br />
giving more to the needy.<br />

My travel kits are usually antibiotics for my cough, fever as well as stomach discomfort.<br />
Maps and travel guide books are very important to explore the destination that I<br />
am visiting. Also, a few readymade Malaysian spices to occasionally satiate my<br />
cravings for Malaysian food which includes instant noodles! I also carry a small<br />
electrical pot to heat up food or cook rice!<br />

The duty-free shops, airline lounges and the customer service which is always<br />

I think my next destination would be<br />
Africa. I am always enchanted by the<br />
African wildlife and its incredible natural<br />
beauty. I would love to explore more on<br />
tribal people and learn their culture and<br />
religious ceremonies apart from food<br />
prepared during celebrations.<br />
WHAT IS YOUR PRE-BOARDING HABIT?<br />
Making sure I purchase enough newspapers and magazines to keep me busy for<br />
the next two to three hours while flying. I like to wash and moisturise my skin and<br />
brush my teeth or sometimes change to loose clothing before we fly off to a long<br />
destination as I prefer to be comfortable at all times. I also call my 85 year old<br />
mother to tell her how much I love her.<br />

CURRENTLY WORKING ON<br />
I am a consultant for Mandarin Oriental Hotel on new Malay wedding feast dishes<br />
which is incorporating old Malaysian Royal Palace cuisine from various states. These<br />
are signature and favourite dishes from the various royal families in the country. I<br />
am also working on my 13th cookbook, 'The Best of Chef Wan's Meals In Minutes'.<br />
Finally, I'm working on opening my first restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.<br />
