DIRECT FLIGHTS TO HONG KONG
Kuala Lumpur is the airline's third destination in Malaysia for the wide-body Airbus
A330-300. The four times daily direct flights between KL and Hong Kong began on
March 1.
The airline already operates 11 weekly flights to Penang and five weekly flights to Kota
Kinabalu. In total, Cathay Dragon will soon be operating 44 weekly flights to Malaysia.
During a press conference recently, Cathay Pacific’s Country Manager for Malaysia
and Brunei, Anna Choi said that together, both Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon
will offer customers something unique – two world-class airlines, one truly seamless
brand experience throughout Asia, Europe, US and beyond.
Malaysia Airports Managing Director, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said Malaysia
remained one of the top South-East Asian destinations for Hong Kong with over
1.5 million passengers travelling to and from Hong Kong from Malaysia in 2016.
"We are also a popular destination for the rest of China, with over 5.1 million passengers
travelling from the China region in 2016, including from Hong Kong. We hope that
Cathay Dragon’s new route to Kuala Lumpur will strengthen both these numbers."
Cathay Dragon, which operates a fleet of 46 passenger aircraft serving 53 regional
destinations, has earned a well-deserved reputation built on its distinctive Asian
culture and hospitality.
