Fly to Nepal with Himalaya Airlines!
Direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kathmandu five times a week
Nepal offers breathtaking views of nature
and is home to the tallest mountain in the
world. Travellers are now able to enjoy
Nepal by flying directly to its capital,
Kathmandu, with Himalaya Airlines!
A Nepal-China joint venture, the airline
will operate direct flights, five times
a week.
In a special inaugural flight ceremony
which took place on February 10, the
flight from Kathmandu to Kuala Lumpur
saw Nepali Ambassador to Malaysia,
H.E. Dr. Niranjan Man Singh Basnyat,
Charge d’affaires a.i. at the Kathmandubased
Malaysian Embassy, Ahmad Phadil
Mohamed Ismail, Nepal's Culture,
Tourism & Civil Aviation Minister, Jiwan
Bahadur Shahi, Malaysia Airports
Managing Director, Datuk Badlisham
Ghazali and Himalaya Airlines President,
Zhao Guo Qiang.
Zhao said, "We are really thrilled to launch
direct flights to Kuala Lumpur as this is
one of our core markets in the Asia Pacific
region and we have around 700,000
Nepalese working here. For the upcoming
weeks, we have received an overwhelming
response for the flight bookings which
has given us confidence that we are here
to stay. This definitely is going to
contribute towards the cordial relationship
as well as business development between
Nepal and Malaysia."
Meanwhile, Badlisham said, "Himalaya
Airlines, a full service carrier, has showed
growth in its route networks since it
started operations in May 2016. This
latest destination to Kuala Lumpur
emphasises the ongoing commitment
to connect Nepal directly to Asia Pacific
countries. This inaugural set-up will
definitely make KLIA into a more effective
hub for connecting business travellers
and tourists from Nepal to destinations
in South East Asia.
"There is a strong demand for direct
flights to Kuala Lumpur and indeed
Malaysia is steadily becoming an
increasingly important and huge market
in the South East Asian region. The new
direct flight will also usher in a boost in
trade and tourism and help us continue
forming stronger ties between both
countries," he added.
The event also witnessed a cake-cutting ceremony
between Malaysia Airports' Managing Director,
Datuk Badlisham Ghazali (second from left) with
