A former Pernas Sime Darby employee, Dahlan said he was<br />
never afraid of getting involved in a field he was unfamiliar<br />
with as he always had the support needed from relevant<br />
organisations. This included the Commercial Division of<br />
Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), back when Malaysia<br />
Airports was not a separate entity as it is today. He says:<br />
Working together with Malaysia Airports since day one has<br />
opened doors for us to network with reputable principals and<br />
international retail players, acquire more quality brands, offer<br />
better product range and also significantly improve the shop<br />
display and presentation.<br />
From the first retail chocolate outlet at Subang<br />
Airport in 1984 to opening a Porsche Design Outlet<br />
at MOP KLIA Sepang in 2015, DR Group Holdings<br />
Sdn Bhd has come a long way in partnering with<br />
Malaysia Airports. Its Founder and Group Managing<br />

FORGING RELATIONSHIPS<br />
The engagement with DCA helped convert a kiosk business<br />
into a full-fledged duty-free shopping plaza. This was the<br />
tipping point for the business expansion when we successfully<br />
bid for retail concessions at other international airports in<br />
Malaysia. From humble beginnings, all these ventures<br />
blossomed from a duckling into a beautiful swan.<br />
ACHIEVEMENTS AND ACCOLADES<br />
Our business started as a single retail outlet. But, it has evolved<br />
into a diversified business interest that includes retail network<br />
both airport and non-airport, distribution of confectionery<br />
brands, property development & management and<br />
confectionery manufacturing.<br />
Over the years DR Group has gained numerous awards and<br />
recognitions which includes the most recent KLIA Awards 2015<br />
Chairman’s Award, Malaysia Airports' Concessionaires<br />
Conference 2016 Champions Award for Perfume & Cosmetics<br />
Colours & Fragrances (KLIA), T.O.U.C.H Campaign for<br />
Customer Service Excellence in 2014's Most Outstanding<br />
We have always forged a close and cordial relationship with<br />
Malaysia Airports since the inception of DR Group. More<br />
importantly, both parties share a common goal of developing<br />
the travel retail industry as a whole. Our regular discussion<br />
and engagement with Malaysia Airports on the airport retail<br />
layout, marketing and promotion helps to chart a clear future<br />
direction for the industry.<br />
As a concessionaire, we are proud to say that DR Group is<br />
recognised as an image partner to Malaysia Airports. It is no<br />
secret that we invest heavily in the outfit of all our airport retail<br />
outlets. We believe that by doing so we are contributing to<br />
