Quinns Rocks Caravan Park – Redevelopment
A consultant has been appointed and a project framework has been prepared. A stage 1 environmental assessment of the
site has been conducted. The consultant is working with City Planning and Property staff to develop a concept design for
submission to the Western Australian Planning Commission as a preliminary Development Application. A tender seeking a
suitable consultant to undertake market research for the proposed redevelopment will be advertised in August.
Local Housing Strategy Implementation – District Planning Scheme Amendment 119
The City has prepared a scheme amendment to implement recommendations of the City’s Local Housing Strategy 2005.
The amendment proposes to increase the residential density in parts of Wanneroo and Koondoola/Girrawheen to deliver
a variety of housing stock. A successful public consultation campaign has been undertaken including online survey and
community consultation sessions held in local shopping centres. The results from the public consultation indicate an
overwhelming support for the amendment, with 93% of respondents supporting. Following Council’s consideration of the
submissions made, the amendment will be forwarded to the State Government for consideration by the Western Australian
Planning Commission and the Minister for Planning.
