Mặc dù, đến cuối phim, Paul cũng chẳng bán được hộp kẹo nào,<br />
nhưng anh đã phân phát vị ngọt của nó bằng lòng nhân hậu và<br />
nhận về tình yêu thuần khiết từ cô con gái chủ lò vang. Tôi kể<br />
cho Khoa về bộ phim trong lúc chúng tôi nằm nghỉ chân trên<br />
bãi cỏ, bên dưới tòa tháp hướng đông của tòa lâu đài, ngắm nhìn<br />
đàn cừu nhẩn nha trong trang trại.<br />
Castello di Amorosa cũng là điểm dừng chân cuối cùng của tôi<br />
tại Californica, trước khi bắt đầu một hành trình mới của mình<br />
trên đất Mỹ. Một hành trình không có Khoa. Khi tiễn tôi ra sân<br />
bay, Khoa dúi vào tay tôi một chiếc khui rượu vang mạ vàng rất<br />
đẹp, một món quà từ thung lũng Napa. Món quà đó, tôi đã vô<br />
tình đánh mất ở chặng bay tiếp theo nhưng nhắm mắt lại tôi vẫn<br />
có thể hình dung được màu vàng óng ánh cùng dòng chữ khắc<br />
nổi tài hoa “Castello di Amorosa”.<br />

‣ Tôi quen Khoa nhiều<br />
năm trước, trong một<br />
hội chơi xe cổ ở Sài<br />
Gòn, trước khi Khoa<br />
theo gia đình sang định<br />
cư ở Mỹ. Những ngày<br />
ở California, Khoa<br />
nhường cho tôi căn<br />
phòng ấm áp của mình<br />
và nghỉ hẳn một tuần<br />
để chở tôi đi thăm thú<br />
các thành phố lân cận.<br />
Nhà Khoa nằm ở quận<br />
Santa Rosa, cách San<br />
Francisco hơn một giờ<br />
lái xe, mỗi ngày đi về<br />
chúng tôi đều đi ngang<br />
qua Cầu Cổng Vàng –<br />
Golden Bridge. Napa là<br />
một trong những điểm<br />
đến yêu thích của tôi<br />
và Khoa trong chuyến<br />
đi mùa hè năm ấy!<br />

khí hậu ôn hòa, mát mẻ<br />
quanh năm nên thu hút<br />
khách tham quan vào<br />
cả bốn mùa. Thời điểm<br />
lý tưởng nhất là mùa hè<br />
và mùa thu, từ tháng<br />
7-10, trước khi các<br />
cánh đồng nho bước<br />
vào mùa thu hoạch.<br />
