Travellive 9 - 2018

Dear valued readers, As once put forward by famous British playwright G. Bernard Shaw, "There is no sincerer love than the love of food". And in a life full of adventurous journeys, the well-known Mark Twain also regrettably wrote a list of more than 60 dishes he missed the chance to enjoy along his trip through Europe and the holy land of Palestine. But perhaps words are not enough to express the human love of food, as well as the meaning of food to human life. For those who return home after long exhausting days, the flavors from a small kitchen warm their hearts. For those who are hungry and inhale the scent of hot dishes, they will have passion. For travelers on the way, every dish is a priceless discovery. For lovers, the presence of food and wine brings two souls closer... And for those who keep eating, tasting, enjoying and constantly searching, creating and cooking is the best way to explore food. In this issue, Travellive invites readers to the world of food; listening to the story of those who have devoted their hearts and souls to food and drink; exploring strange lands through local dishes; looking for opportunities to enjoy the unforgettable experiences of travel bloggers… And after all, do not forget to enjoy life by letting food fill your stomach, heart and soul!

or a bit of culture, SOHO is the place to be. Only the next best district after New York’s Broadway for theatrelovers,
it always has some wonderful shows you can attend. After the show, do a bit of pub-hopping with many historic
British pubs jostling for space down the street.
WHERE TO SHOP
Any Londoner will tell you that Oxford Street is the hub of all things stylish. Get your cheque book along and go wild
shopping for the brands of your dreams. If you prefer smaller boutiques or more vintage variety, Notting Hill is a lovely
area to explore on foot. Check Portobello Market in the area and you may find some great pieces for your new marital
home. However, if you are a food-lover and nothing excites you more than trying out the best foods and taking some
back home, Borough Market is the place to go to. One of the oldest food markets in Europe, it goes back to the 12 th
century and is Disneyland for food-lovers. From fresh produce to hand-made cheese, pate to warm baked bread, there is
so much to see, eat and buy here that it can easily take up half of your day. After all that walking, make sure you queue
up for pasta at Padella. A tiny place that invariably has an hour-long queue; it serves the best burnt butter and sage
ravioli in the world. Definitely worth the wait.
