Basic Rules For Effective Communicati<strong>on</strong><br />
System and process auditing require effective communicati<strong>on</strong> with the auditee organizati<strong>on</strong> and the auditor’s<br />
organizati<strong>on</strong> and within the audit team itself. This communicati<strong>on</strong> can take many forms, including written<br />
memos, automated notificati<strong>on</strong>s, e-mails, chats, and verbal c<strong>on</strong>versati<strong>on</strong>s before and during an audit<br />
performance. Basic rules for effective communicati<strong>on</strong> include:<br />
(1) ensuring that the message is clear,<br />
(2) verifying that the message is received and understood, and<br />
(3) using the appropriate medium for transmittal.<br />
