Part IIIB
Lunch Break
Lead auditors often prefer that the audit team have a working lunch on-site instead of going off-site to a
restaurant.
Scheduling a small amount of time for audit team meeting during the lunch break aids the auditors in gathering
additional information and corroborating information with other audit team members. A poorly organized lunch
can cost the audit team precious time and cause embarrassment if auditors are late for the next scheduled
interview.
If an off-site lunch is appropriate for communicating with auditee management or for team management
purposes, adequate time should be scheduled.
For remote audits, the lead auditor can set specific times for meals and breaks. There are no host or long
lunch break issues.
