It happened every time. Christina hoped not this<br />
time—it was time <strong>the</strong>y headed to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Great</strong> <strong>Wall</strong><br />
with <strong>the</strong>ir treasure map! She was getting as anxious<br />
as Grant to solve this mystery and get some<br />
distance between <strong>the</strong>m and <strong>the</strong> angry man.<br />
“This is lunch!?” Christina exclaimed.<br />
Before <strong>the</strong>m was an array <strong>of</strong> food like she had<br />
never seen before.<br />
Li pointed to each dish as she named <strong>the</strong>m:<br />
“M<strong>on</strong>golian Hotpot (sort <strong>of</strong> like your f<strong>on</strong>du), Mu<br />
Shu Pork, Prawns (big shrimp), and…”<br />
Grant interrupted her. “I know those,” he<br />
said, pointing to a l<strong>on</strong>g stick that pierced enough<br />
apples for each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m. “Candied apples!”<br />
Every<strong>on</strong>e laughed and began to eat. This<br />
time, when tea was poured in a l<strong>on</strong>g arc into<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir cups, <strong>the</strong>y hardly noticed. In fact, <strong>the</strong>y<br />
hardly noticed anything but <strong>the</strong> delicious food <strong>on</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong>ir plates disappearing. That is, until Papa<br />
served <strong>the</strong> candied apple dessert.<br />
“Oops,” he said, “It seems we’re short<br />
<strong>on</strong>e apple.”<br />
“It is OK, sir!” said a waiter who suddenly<br />
appeared. “A guest ordered this especially for<br />
<strong>the</strong> young gentleman’s dessert today.” Every<strong>on</strong>e<br />
