Vanished!<br />
“Oh, no!” cried Li. “I think Grant just fell<br />
<strong>of</strong>f <strong>the</strong> mountain!”<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>The</str<strong>on</strong>g> kids raced to <strong>the</strong> place where <strong>the</strong>y<br />
had seen Grant tumble into <strong>the</strong> bushes.<br />
Suddenly, just as quickly as he had disappeared,<br />
Grant tumbled back out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> bushes and <strong>on</strong>to<br />
<strong>the</strong> path. He looked rumpled and shaken.<br />
“Grant!” Christina cried. “Are you OK?<br />
What happened?”<br />
At first, Grant could not speak. Finally,<br />
he said, “I got shanghaied! Some<strong>on</strong>e grabbed<br />
me! <str<strong>on</strong>g>The</str<strong>on</strong>g>y pulled me <strong>of</strong>f <strong>the</strong> path. Next, <strong>the</strong>y<br />
shook me up a little, like a Chinese milkshake,<br />
<strong>the</strong>n shoved me back <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> path.” He looked<br />
c<strong>on</strong>fused and scared. All <strong>of</strong> a sudden, a look <strong>of</strong><br />
awareness crossed his face.
