loud. “Well, that makes me feel better,” he said.<br />

“Why?” asked C<strong>on</strong>g. “It still sounds like a<br />

threat to me.”<br />

“I think Grant means that we are not<br />

going to H<strong>on</strong>g K<strong>on</strong>g, so he can’t return <strong>the</strong><br />

map,” Christina explained, looking at Grant<br />

who nodded.<br />

“Ahhh…” said Li, “so…<strong>the</strong> man must<br />

have an appointment or something and has to<br />

go to H<strong>on</strong>g K<strong>on</strong>g…which means he will be<br />

leaving Beijing?”<br />

“Leaving us al<strong>on</strong>e!” said Grant, hopefully.<br />

He was still grinning and crunching cookie<br />

and apple toge<strong>the</strong>r when Mimi and Papa<br />

returned to <strong>the</strong> table.<br />

“Guess what, kids?” Papa said. “Guess<br />

where we’re going?” Papa was so excited he<br />

couldn’t wait for <strong>the</strong>ir guess, so he told <strong>the</strong>m:<br />

“To HONG KONG!”
