Entry requirements
• 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English
& maths. If you do not have grade 4 (C) or above in English &
maths you will be expected to re-take that subject in Year 1.
or
A full Level 2 at Merit grade or above, with maths
and English grades equivalent to those stated
above.
• A clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
at the start of the course.
• Enthusiasm for working with children.
About the course
This course will give you a comprehensive
introduction to progress directly on to employment,
to an apprenticeship or an Early Years Educator
qualification.
You will study all aspects of how children develop,
literacy & numeracy skills, play & learning, how to
support children’s early learning, keeping children
safe, paediatric first aid and more. You will also
complete a work placement for 400 hours per year
to give you a practical insight in to the industry.

(approx £14).
Your future
After the course, you can study at college or
university at a higher level, or use the skills and
experience you have gained to progress further in
your career and find employment in the Childcare
industry.
