Course length: 2 years | Code: 8002<br />
Entry requirements<br />
• 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English<br />
& maths. If you do not have grade 4 (C) or above in both<br />
subjects, the minimum for the other subject is grade 3 (D).<br />

A full Level 2 at Pass grade or above. Students with<br />
grade 3 (D) in either English or maths will be expected to re-take<br />
that subject in Year 1.<br />

About the course<br />
Earn new Computing & Networking concepts and<br />
gain practical hands-on skills. You develop your<br />
understanding of the technical specifications<br />
involved in a wide range of computer components<br />
and network devices. You build and upgrade a PC,<br />
install software, troubleshoot and set up secure<br />
computer networks. To be considered for the<br />
course, you need to be enthusiastic and be prepared<br />
to work hard. You also complete an industry<br />
placement where you will spend <strong>time</strong> working in<br />
your chosen career area.<br />
Your future<br />
After the course, you can study at college or<br />
university at a higher level, or use the skills and<br />
experience you have gained to progress further in<br />
your career in Computing.<br />
