must also view the understanding of how life really works as a matter of
the great consequence. That individual’s most important ongoing
challenge is then, to think, speak and act accordingly, even as life
presents the constant pressures to do otherwise. Chip, who you met
earlier, plus Caitlin who’s up next provide eloquent examples on the
subject.
Chip is an example of people who purposefully change the cause side of
their equation when they decide they are not pleased with the effect they
are creating in their lives. In her own unique way, Caitlin does the same.
It seems apparent, that while people may be aware of the Law of Cause
and Effect in the outer world of nature, they generally lack the
comprehension that it is just as active in their own individual lives as it
is in any other part of life.
It is easy to comprehend that planting a healthy tulip bulb under proper
care and conditions will result in the growth of a beautiful flower called
a tulip, and equally obvious to acknowledge that if left unattended, the
tulip may never grow or may be strangled by weeds. These are both
examples of the Law of Cause and Effect at work.
It is a tremendous leap of understanding, though, for most individuals,
no matter how educated or sophisticated, to see the quality of their own
life as the direct effect of their own input or cause, as clearly as if they
were planting seeds and tending the garden.
Returning to the tulip, when cared for properly, the result was positive.
When not cared for properly, it was negative. The only difference was
how the law was used. It really made no difference to the law what the
gardener did – the law did not render judgment and call the gardener
either good or bad – the law just reacted to the input, or cause by
