of deceit. Of course, those others made their choices and suffered their
consequences, but Raj is a perfect example of why there is such
confusion about “The Time Factor” discussed earlier.
Anyone who knew how Raj was cheating, and had been for years, would
have said, “See, the bad guys get away with their deception and get all
the rewards. It’s not fair, but it’s just the way it is!” They would have
said that, it should be clarified, until October 13, 2011 when Rajaratnam
was sentenced to eleven years in prison.
Then there are the druggie athletes whose covers have been blown, the
sexual predators in business, government, entertainment, sports and
elsewhere; all revealed to have abused their positions of influence or
power over others.
And now, in the most stunning, alarming and despicable revelation of
all, the abuse of thousands of children, by more than 300 priests, over a
period of 70 plus years, brought to light by a Grand Jury investigation of
accusations of abuse in the state of Pennsylvania.
The cover-up over all those years included the corruption of public
officials in exchange for votes. It had the long-standing, highly
cultivated and sophisticated effectiveness, that would be the envy of any
criminal enterprise in history. We’ll no doubt be watching the effect side
of this debacle play out for some time – “the checks are there and will
appear.”
These examples, all tell the same story, and say what they might, the fact
is that whatever the consequences may be, the perpetrators will have
brought them on entirely by themselves. Nobody held a gun to their
heads to hurt others and be criminals. They just didn’t believe it. They
didn’t think it was true that...
