passed away. Her hard work, pleasant manner and ever-present wry
sense of humor served her well and she built a terrific business. She
served many people who benefitted enormously from her dedicated,
straightforward and caring approach to their financial needs.
I recently had occasion, purely coincidentally, to bump into Melinda in
the elevator of my office building. She was bubbling over with
enthusiasm, as she told me about the new private office her firm had just
given her, the kind reserved for the most highly regarded and biggest
producers of the firm. She told me with relish about the young man she
had just hired to be her new sales assistant.
“So Melinda,” I asked her. “Do you ask him to get you your tea?”
“Only drink coffee from Starbucks,” she said with a smile.
