4 HMI software for CNC controls Supplementary hardware for HMI software MOBY E tool identification system ■ Overview The MOBY E product family comprises identification systems with Siemens components for the optimization and control of the material flow during production. MOBY E also contains appropriate powerful components for integration in the SIMATIC S7-300 or the SINUMERIK specially for tool identification. MOBY E consists of the 3 following components: 7 Mobile data memory (MDS) 7 Read/write device (SLG) 7 Interface module (ASM) Mobile data memories (code carriers) which contain all the production and quality data are attached to the object to be identified (tool). The required data can now be read or written contactfree (inductively) with a stationary read/write device. The read/write devices are connected to the interface by a serial cable (max. 1000 m/3281 ft), which in conjunction with the MOBY standard software facilitates easy integration in the SIMATIC S7/SINUMERIK (TDI Ident Connection).
