MOBY E tool identification system<br />
■ Overview<br />
The MOBY E product family comprises identification systems<br />
with Siemens components <strong>for</strong> the optimization and control of the<br />
material flow during production. MOBY E also contains appropriate<br />
powerful components <strong>for</strong> integration in the SIMATIC S7-300<br />
or the SINUMERIK specially <strong>for</strong> tool identification.<br />
MOBY E consists of the 3 following components:<br />
7 Mobile data memory (MDS)<br />
7 Read/write device (SLG)<br />
7 Interface module (ASM)<br />
Mobile data memories (code carriers) which contain all the production<br />
and quality data are attached to the object to be identified<br />
(tool). The required data can now be read or written contactfree<br />
(inductively) with a stationary read/write device. The<br />
read/write devices are connected to the interface by a serial<br />
cable (max. 1000 m/3281 ft), which in conjunction with the<br />
MOBY standard <strong>software</strong> facilitates easy integration in the<br />
SIMATIC S7/SINUMERIK (TDI Ident Connection).<br />
MCIS TDI Ident Connection permits reading/writing of code<br />
media <strong>for</strong> tools in association with the standard tool management<br />
option of the SINUMERIK and permits automatic loading/unloading<br />
via a PLC interface.<br />
