Progress
The Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC) predicts that the country’s insurance industry will see peak
retirements over the next five years. Prepare to fill vacancies — and to lead — in various areas of
insurance by learning to perform necessary functions. This includes: explaining personal and
commercial aspects of insurance; and defining and explaining the importance of property, auto,
crime, and liability insurance through in-depth interpretations of policy wordings, policy conditions,
and statutory conditions. Because it includes seven of 10 insurance industry-specific courses
(the maximum the IIC allows), this Insurance Management program is a pathway to the Chartered
Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
Notes:
1. You must join IIC (at no cost) when starting the Insurance Management program and maintain the free IIC membership for the
duration of your full-time studies.
2. You will be required to purchase insurance industry textbooks and resources directly through IIC, and to register and pay fees
for the insurance industry exams through the IIC based on registration timelines strictly adhered to by the IIC. For more visit,
“The Insurance Management program at Centennial College was
life-changing for me. Even without a background in insurance, the
expertise and experience from my professors led me not only to
know about the industry but to a deep understanding in how the
insurance industry works in real-life business. As a result, within three
months from my graduation, I got my first job in the insurance industry.”
