Access to justice requires well-trained <strong>and</strong> licensed paralegals to fill the dem<strong>and</strong> for affordable legal<br />
services. This program balances theory <strong>and</strong> practice to help you become a well-rounded professional<br />
who st<strong>and</strong>s out. Your studies familiarize you with Canadian law, concentrating on subjects within the<br />
permitted scope of paralegal practice. In addition to academic lectures, management practice, <strong>and</strong><br />
mock trials, a 196-hour work placement puts theory into practice at established law <strong>and</strong> paralegal<br />
firms. Centennial’s experiential learning component exceeds the Law Society’s requirements.<br />
This immersive practical experience, <strong>and</strong> resulting networking opportunities, further assist you in<br />
successfully navigating the field when you graduate.<br />
Program Accreditation<br />
The Law Society of Ontario accredits this program. Upon successful completion of all requirements, you will be<br />
eligible to write the Law Society’s Paralegal licensing examination, enabling you to practice as a licensed<br />
paralegal in Ontario.<br />

Semester Notes:<br />
1. In the third semester, students will participate in an<br />
end-of-semester field placement (5 days per week for<br />
4 weeks) for a minimum of 160 hours. Students must<br />
have successfully completed all Semester 1 <strong>and</strong> 2<br />
courses with an overall grade point average (GPA) of<br />
2.0 in these courses.<br />
2. To graduate, a program GPA of 2.0 (C grade) or higher is<br />
required.<br />
