FAST-TRACK<br />
Manufacturing attracts significant investments, which means there is a continued dem<strong>and</strong> for<br />
mechanical engineering technicians. Start your career in this field in just two semesters. Our <strong>Fast</strong>track<br />
option places you in Year 2 (Semester 3) of this two-year program for speedy completion, with<br />
an advanced computer-assisted drafting <strong>and</strong> computer-assisted manufacturing skill set. Courses<br />
use a project-based approach to teach you the use of industry-current software. By working in small<br />
groups, learn to plan, schedule, create, design, <strong>and</strong> build as part of a team — while simultaneously<br />
acquiring the leadership abilities needed for personal <strong>and</strong> professional success.<br />
Notes:<br />
1. You may graduate as a Technician after one year or continue with an additional year of study <strong>and</strong> co-op work experience in the<br />
Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design program.<br />
2. This program is taught using a combination of modalities. Courses may be delivered face-to-face, online, or in a blended/<br />
hybrid combination of both online <strong>and</strong> traditional classroom teaching.<br />

• This program has met the national educational st<strong>and</strong>ards of Canada’s engineering technology <strong>and</strong> applied<br />
science profession, <strong>and</strong> as such, has received national program accreditation from Technology Accreditation<br />
Canada (TAC).<br />
• The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians <strong>and</strong> Technologists (OACETT) recognizes this TAC<br />
nationally-accredited program as meeting the academic st<strong>and</strong>ard for certification in the Certified Technician<br />
(C.Tech.) category as well as the OACETT language benchmark requirement.<br />
