Get recognition for your previous education <strong>and</strong> experience as a diploma or degree holder when you<br />
enter directly into Semester 3 of this three-year program. Primarily aimed at internationally-trained<br />
professionals, it offers knowledge of North American construction practices <strong>and</strong> language <strong>and</strong> a<br />
diploma in only four academic semesters. Become familiar with building materials, construction<br />
methods, structural design, mechanical <strong>and</strong> electrical services, building codes <strong>and</strong> zoning by-laws,<br />
contracts, specifications, <strong>and</strong> the business environment for providing design <strong>and</strong> construction<br />
services. Round out your training — <strong>and</strong> gain more practical leadership skills — by learning to use<br />
industry-st<strong>and</strong>ard computer technology, <strong>and</strong> by preparing designs <strong>and</strong> construction drawings for<br />
commercial, institutional, complex, <strong>and</strong> multi-use buildings.<br />
Note: Once you complete the program, you may apply for Ontario Association of Applied Architectural Sciences (OAAAS)<br />
membership, which can lead to Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) membership as a Licensed Technologist OAA; membership<br />
in the Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario (AATO); a Building Code Identification Number (BCIN); <strong>and</strong> a Leadership<br />
in Energy <strong>and</strong> Environmental Design (LEED) professional credential.<br />
