“I’m afraid she wouldn’t let him. I…” Giles removed his glasses. “I told her myself.<br />

I’m sorry, Xander.”<br />

Xander nodded. “It’s okay. You think we should have told her from the beginning?”<br />

“That’s hard to say.” Setting his glasses on the table, he gestured for Xander to sit<br />

in the unoccupied chair. Crossing his arms over his chest, Giles continued, “Sex is a<br />

tricky thing.”<br />

“And the understatement award goes to…”<br />

“May I ask you something?”<br />

“Not like we have a lot of secrets, Giles.”<br />

“Perhaps that’s true.” An exuberated sigh, then, “Do you consider yourself a<br />

virgin?”<br />

Xander allowed himself to be taken back by the question, then leaned back and<br />

prepared himself for a very revealing conversation. “No.”<br />

“But you’ve never had sex with a woman?”<br />

Sigh “Right.”<br />

“And it wasn‘t your choice to start having sex in this manner.”<br />

“True.”<br />

“Do you consider yourself to be gay?”<br />

That one took a little more thought. “No. I mean, I’m not attracted to other men.<br />

And I still like women.”
