loss in <strong>the</strong> item <strong>of</strong> domestic fuel, for not less than one-third <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> whole<br />

product <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> mines is a total loss, or say $454,819,378 worth <strong>of</strong> fuel has.<br />

been wasted, while <strong>the</strong> bituminous <strong>coal</strong>s <strong>of</strong> Great Britain can be all utilized.<br />

Our very best <strong>anthracite</strong> <strong>coal</strong> is wasted by <strong>the</strong> system <strong>of</strong> its preparation.<br />
