CHAPTER 2 – BETTER PLANNING: BETTER SERVICES<br />

<strong>Challenger</strong> <strong>TAFE</strong> | <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2006</strong> 13<br />

The Premier circulated the <strong>Western</strong> Australian Government’s Better Planning: Better Services -Strategic Planning Framework for<br />

the <strong>Western</strong> Australian Public Sector in December 2003. The aim <strong>of</strong> the framework, built around fi ve strategic goals, is to deliver<br />

cohesive, holistic and coordinated public services. The College’s strategic framework has been crafted to incorporate these<br />

outcomes and the following table is provided to show the alignment with <strong>Challenger</strong> <strong>TAFE</strong>’s Strategic Planning Framework <strong>2006</strong>-<br />

2011.<br />

2.1 People and Communities<br />

From State Goal 1 <strong>Challenger</strong> <strong>TAFE</strong> Strategic Goals<br />

Enhance the quality <strong>of</strong> life and wellbeing <strong>of</strong> all people <strong>Challenger</strong> <strong>TAFE</strong> Goal 2<br />

throughout <strong>Western</strong> Australia<br />

Being the training provider <strong>of</strong> choice for industry, labour market<br />

entrants and community members by:<br />

Fostering positive attitudes to lifelong learning and assisting<br />

people to respond to new skill demands in the workplace,<br />

community and family life, including balancing work,<br />

community and family life<br />

Making learning solutions relevant for identifi ed groups<br />

while being culturally and socially sensitive to the needs <strong>of</strong><br />

individuals, youth, indigenous students, people from culturally<br />

diverse backgrounds, international students and people with<br />

a disability<br />

Developing excellence in training delivery and providing<br />

responsive student support and career services<br />
