Mr David Holland is the Chair <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Challenger</strong> <strong>TAFE</strong> Hospitality and Tourism Industry Advisory Committee. He is Managing<br />
Director <strong>of</strong> ‘Yalgorup Eco Park On The Beach’ and a Director <strong>of</strong> Brighthouse, a consultancy specialising in nature-based tourism<br />
developments. He is immediate past chairman <strong>of</strong> the Peel Region Tourism Association, past member <strong>of</strong> the WA Tourism<br />
Commission’s Industry Development Advisory Committee, and past president <strong>of</strong> the Caravan Industry Australia (WA).<br />

Mr Steve Murdoch<br />
Steve is Chief Operating Offi cer at Austal Ships. He has extensive experience in Metallurgical Operations and Manufacture,<br />
as well as in Underground Mining. Over the previous eight years Steve has worked for Smorgon Steel (General Manager<br />
- Manufacturing), Mount Isa Mines (General Manager - Metallurgical Operations; and Maintenance Manager - Metallurgical<br />
Plants) and Oaky Creek Coal (Underground Mine Manager - Oaky Creek North Long Wall Recovery; and Surface Manager). He<br />
has a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Engineering (Metallurgy) University <strong>of</strong> Queensland 1988 and a strong interest in the area <strong>of</strong> traineeships and<br />
apprenticeships.<br />

Mr Wayne Murray returned to Governing Council after a period working in international markets. He is self-employed and has<br />
completed work recently in Indonesia, China and Papua New Guinea. Wayne has many years experience in the petrochemical,<br />
refi ning and logistics industries. He has a working knowledge <strong>of</strong> Indonesian, Tagalog and Mandarin and has a Trade Certifi cate<br />
(Turner Iron Machinist), a BA in Training and Development and is an accredited Workplace Trainer/Assessor.<br />

Mr Rod Ogilvie<br />
Rod is a Yamatji man from Naanda Country in <strong>Western</strong> Australia’s Murchison. He has a Masters in Social Policy and Research<br />
and a Bachelor Arts in Adult Education from the University <strong>of</strong> Technology Sydney. His other qualifi cations include a Certifi cate<br />
IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (BSZ 40198), Reach Trainer Respecting Ethnic and Cultural Heritages, Department <strong>of</strong><br />
Community Services NSW, Child Protection Offi cer, Aboriginal Foster Care’s Training and Community Development Programs,<br />
Australian Health Consultancy Services Occupational Health, Safety & Welfare Training, West Australian Institute <strong>of</strong> Technology<br />
Aboriginal Liaison Offi cers course, Community Services Training College working with committees and community and<br />
Residential Child Care Certifi cate. He has wide knowledge on social issues and a strong commitment to social justice. This is<br />
evidenced by his extensive networks, established over many years <strong>of</strong> community work; in Perth, the Kimberley’s, and the Hunter<br />
and Riverina regions <strong>of</strong> New South Wales.<br />
Since returning to <strong>Western</strong> Australia in 2002, he has been involved in several areas <strong>of</strong> work delivering Certifi cate III courses at<br />
Acacia Prison, and Nyoongar / Swan patrol. These courses were sponsored by Community Youth Training Services<br />
