Superconductivity of FeSe and related compounds<br />

<strong>Abstract</strong>:<br />

The discovery of the iron-based superconductors<br />

stimulated huge number of researchers. After the first report<br />

[1], more than 500 papers had been reported within this one<br />

year. Many of them were focused on the exploration of new<br />

materials with higher superconducting transition temperature<br />

(Tc). Nowadays, those materials can be categorized into four<br />

groups from structural point of view. FeSe has the simplest<br />

structure among the iron-based superconductors. This fact<br />

implies the advantage for studying the essential feature of<br />

the iron-based superconductors.<br />

We have synthesized FeSe and related compounds. [2~4]<br />

Figure 1 shows substitution dependence of the Tc. Chemical<br />

substitution of Te for Se site enhanced the superconductivity<br />

up to 0.8 and the superconductivity disappeared after further<br />

substitution suddenly.<br />

We performed photoemission study on FeSe. As is shown<br />

in fig. 2, photoemission intensity around Fermi level<br />

decrease with decreasing temperature.<br />
