ENDOWED FACULTY CHAIR<br />
Attracting and retaining high quality faculty is a priority of <strong>Austin</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> trustees.<br />
A gift of $2.1 million fully endows a faculty chair, providing competitive salary,<br />
generous benefi ts, and discretionary funds for research and conferences.<br />
SPECIAL ENDOWMENTS<br />
Special Endowments support lectureships, the library, and other specifi c programs of<br />
<strong>Austin</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>, according to the donor’s interest. Contact the Offi ce of Institutional<br />
Advancement for more information.<br />
MEMORIAL GIFTS<br />
Gifts to <strong>Austin</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> in memory or honor of a family member or special friend<br />
are welcomed and appreciated.<br />
WILLS AND PLANNED GIFTS<br />
The many friends that have, over the years, included the <strong>Seminary</strong> in their wills<br />
and planned life income gifts have played a large part in making <strong>Austin</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong><br />
the strong school it is today. <strong>Austin</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> uses the services of our <strong>Presbyterian</strong><br />
foundations to assist those who desire to make a planned or deferred gift from<br />
which the donor receives income for life and the <strong>Seminary</strong> becomes the ultimate<br />
benefi ciary. By including the <strong>Seminary</strong> in your estate planning, your stewardship<br />
can strengthen the church of the future.<br />
FORM OF BEQUEST<br />
The following or like form may be used:<br />
“I give and bequeath to <strong>Austin</strong> <strong>Presbyterian</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>, <strong>Austin</strong>,<br />
Texas, the sum of … dollars (real estate, securities, etc.)” It is requested that<br />
the <strong>Seminary</strong>’s vice president for institutional advancement be informed of any<br />
bequest to the <strong>Seminary</strong>.<br />
ARTICLE FROM THE BYLAWS<br />
“A sacred regard shall be paid to the wishes and directions of all testators or donors<br />
who may bequeath or give anything to the <strong>Seminary</strong>. Any individual or individuals,<br />
who shall, by will or otherwise, found or endow a professorship or a scholarship, or<br />
a fund of suffi cient amount for any specifi c purpose connected with the <strong>Seminary</strong>,<br />
ordinarily may designate the name by which it shall be called.”<br />
LEGAL NAME<br />
The legal name of the institution is “<strong>Austin</strong> <strong>Presbyterian</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>.” It<br />
is incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas, and gifts to <strong>Austin</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong><br />
are tax deductible.<br />
