A student placed on probation is liable for dismissal from the program by the<br />

faculty. Any DMin student not removed from probation within a period of one<br />

academic year will be subject to dismissal from the program.<br />

PROGRAM COSTS<br />

Fees are payable at registration for each residence term. There is a nonrefundable<br />

basic entry fee of $250. In addition, a tuition fee of $95 per credit is charged for all<br />

courses, including TDS.902 The Doctoral Project.<br />

A graduation fee of $400 is assessed of each candidate prior to the commencement<br />

at which the degree is conferred. This fee covers graduation expenses, the language<br />

reader for the fi nal doctoral project, binding the fi nal project (one library copy),<br />

and creating a microfi che for the <strong>Theological</strong> Research Exchange Network (TREN).<br />

Currently tuition (for 84 credits) and fees for the DMin program total $8360.<br />

When the curricular base for a unit of study is completed at another institution,<br />

a fee equal to one-half the cost of Phase III elective course is charged for the services<br />

of a faculty supervisor in the design of the project and for the evaluation.<br />

A continuation fee of $150 is assessed for each term in which a Doctor of<br />

Ministry student chooses not to register for course work. This fee is not assessed of<br />

a DMin student on an approved leave of absence or during the 18 months allotted<br />

for completion of the Doctoral Project.<br />

During residence terms, housing and meals on the <strong>Seminary</strong> campus are available<br />

at current room and board rates.<br />

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS<br />

All courses in the Doctor of Ministry program are taught during consecutive weeks<br />

in January and June which are designated as residence terms for the program. All<br />

DMin courses are two weeks in duration. The program may be completed in a<br />

minimum of four years and must be completed in seven years. Ordinarily, a Doctor<br />

of Ministry program will not be regarded as complete which does not include at<br />

least twelve weeks in residence at the <strong>Austin</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> campus.<br />

SATISFACTORY PROGRESS<br />

A student is judged to be in good standing and making satisfactory progress in the<br />

Doctor of Ministry degree program by:<br />

1. being in residence (enrolled in a DMin course) at least once every twelve<br />

months, except when writing the fi nal doctoral project;<br />

2. maintaining a valid ministerial context in which to do doctoral research<br />

projects;<br />

3. promptly notifying the DMin offi ce of all changes in ministerial contexts,<br />

including submitting a new letter of ecclesial endorsement which grants<br />

the student permission to do research in the host church or institution;<br />

4. promptly notifying the DMin offi ce of all changes of address;<br />

5. promptly replying to all correspondence, e-mails, and phone calls;<br />

6. passing all courses within their deadlines;<br />

7. being advanced to candidacy; and<br />

8. progressing through the program on a schedule that allows for the completion<br />

of all work required for the degree within seven years of matriculation.<br />
