Practices<br />

<strong>Teaching</strong> and assessment should be a seamless<br />

process <strong>The</strong> Integrated Performance Assessment<br />

effectively gauges student performance at the<br />

end <strong>of</strong> a sequence <strong>of</strong> instructi<strong>on</strong> such as a unit<br />

or term However, teachers who wish to use the<br />

IPA also need to develop assessments al<strong>on</strong>g the<br />

way that measure the Communicative Modes in<br />

a manner compatible with and preparatory for<br />

the IPA This workshop will help teachers develop<br />

assessments for their students within the themes<br />

they are teaching so that measuring student performance<br />

is always the goal <strong>The</strong>y will have the<br />

opportunity to create a c<strong>on</strong>tinuum <strong>of</strong> assessments<br />

leading to the IPA Participants are invited to bring<br />

materials for a thematic unit with them to use as<br />

they create assessments<br />
