INFORME ICCAT 2010-2011 (II)16 Consideración de planes para actividades futuras16.1 Planes de trabajo anualesLos relatores presentaron los planes de trabajo de los distintos Grupos de especies para 2012. Los planes fueronaprobados y se adjuntan como Apéndice 4.En lo que concierne a la propuesta de implementar un programa de marcado a gran escala para 2012 y añosposteriores para los túnidos tropicales, el Comité consideró la posibilidad de obtener fondos de la DirecciónGeneral de Desarrollo y Cooperación de la Comisión Europea. Con el fin de activar este procedimiento, sedecidió crear una unidad de trabajo formada por miembros del Grupo de especies tropicales. Con respecto a lapropuesta para pequeños túnidos, se solicitó a la Secretaría que explore fuentes alternativas de financiación parala recopilación de datos y la investigación de importantes pesquerías locales de pequeños túnidos, sobre todo enpaíses en desarrollo. Côte d’Ivoire y Senegal manifestaron su apoyo y su deseo de participar en esta iniciativa deinvestigación. Hubo una recomendación general en cuanto al respaldo a las asignaciones de cuotas científicasque pueden contribuir financieramente a los diferentes programas de investigación, con prioridad para elPrograma de investigación sobre el atún rojo para todo el Atlántico (GBYP). Noruega indicó que había tenidouna experiencia positiva en este campo y se ofreció a compartir sus conocimientos. Estados Unidos, Canadá y laUE secundaron esta recomendación.16.2 Reuniones intersesiones propuestas para 2012Teniendo en cuenta las evaluaciones encargadas por la Comisión y las recomendaciones del Comité en lo queconcierne a coordinación de la investigación, las reuniones intersesiones propuestas para 2012 son las que seincluyen en la Tabla 16.2. El Comité indicó que el programa tiene que tener cierta flexibilidad para tener encuenta algunos cambios que puedan producirse como resultado de las deliberaciones de la Comisión ennoviembre de 2011 y de las reuniones programadas por otras OROP.Dependiendo de la decisión de la Comisión, las reuniones intersesiones del próximo año serán las siguientes: enabril de 2012 se celebrarán las reuniones del Grupo de métodos de evaluación de stocks y del Grupo de especiestropicales; en mayo se celebrará la sesión de evaluación de aguja blanca; en junio, la reunión de tiburones, lareunión del Subcomité de ecosistemas tendrá lugar en julio, y la evaluación de stock de atún rojo estáprogramada para principios de septiembre. Portugal manifestó que quería acoger la reunión del Grupo deespecies sobre tiburones. La reunión se celebrará en la región del Algarve.188
