Summary:
Introduction: The term adrenal "incidentaloma" is a neologism indicating an
adrenal mass fortuitously discovered during an examination of abdominal imagery
not moved by the exploration of an adrenal pathology .
The prevalence of adrenal incidentalomas varies from 1.1 to 32% depending
on criteria used to define an adenoma, the patient age and intensity of research.
Histologically, the adrenal adenoma is the lesion most frequently found,
however, it is essential to eliminate the presence of a primary malignant adrenal
tumors or adrenal metastases location.
object: Unfortunately we do not have statistics yet on the national level. Hence
the interest of this work in terms of initiating the creation of a register for the
adrenal "incidentaloma".
Materials and methods: We conducted a descriptive analysis of 12 cases of
adrenal incidentalomas , collected in the service of Endocrinology Diabetology and
Nutrition CHU IBN SINA over 08 years (January 2000-March 2008).
For this retrospective analysis we excluded patients for whom a prior
pathology or suspected adrenal would have justified an adrenal exploration.
