Body & Eros è il tema del 5. Festival Internazionale di Danza Contemporanea,
a Venezia dal 14 al 30 giugno 2007, conclusione di un programma
triennale in cui il direttore Ismael Ivo ha condotto un’articolata riflessione
sul corpo, luogo in cui si riflettono contraddizioni, bisogni, interrogativi
del nostro tempo. Il corpo e la danza si confrontano con il pensiero
contemporaneo in un rapporto che è il tratto distintivo del Festival.
Il viaggio attraverso il corpo approda quest’anno nei territori del desiderio,
visto nella complessità dell’esperienza estetica, nelle sue tensioni e
nei suoi limiti. Le 15 compagnie e i 31 artisti e coreografi che partecipano
al 5. Festival sono stati invitati dalla Biennale ad esprimere con il loro
lavoro una personale visione sul tema portante del Festival, presentando
numerose prime mondiali, tutte novità per l’Italia e per la Biennale.
Fra i grandi protagonisti attesi al Festival, Marina Abramovic e il suo
Independent Performance Group, la compagnia giapponese tutta al femminile
Batik, lo straordinario performer Fuyuki Yamakawa accompagnato
dalla sua “hard core band del XXIII secolo”, il puro movimento di Kaiji
Moriyama, l’artista argentino Rodrigo Pardo, il venezuelano Javier De
Frutos con la britannica Phoenix Dance Theatre, il tedesco Felix Ruckert,
artista iconoclasta e discusso. E ancora Motus, una delle compagnie italiane
più rappresentate all’estero, CoisCéim Dance Theatre, compagnia
di punta della scena irlandese, Liquid Loft di Chris Haring, premiato
lo scorso anno all’ImPuls Tanz Festival di Vienna, il trascinante Nigel
Charnock, la giovanissima compagnia coreana Laboratory Dance Project
e, fra gli italiani, Francesco Ventriglia, dal corpo di ballo del Teatro scaligero,
e Simona Bucci con la sua compagnia.
Body and Eros is the theme of the 5th International Festival of Contemporary
Dance, in Venice from 14 to 30 June 2007. In a three year program,
Ismael Ivo has conducted an articulated reflection on the body, a place
where you can see reflected the contradictions, needs and questions of
our time.
The Body and the Dance confront themselves with the contemporary
thinking, in a relation which is the main trait of the festival.
The journey through our body lands this year in the territory of desire, in
the complexity of aesthetic experience, in its tensions and its limits. Fifteen
corps de ballet and 31 artists and choreographers have been invited
to the Biennale to express with their work a personal vision on the main
theme of the festival, and will perform in various world openings.
Among the main artists awaited at the festival: Marina Abramovic and
her Independent Performance Group; the Japanese women corp de ballet
Batik; the extraordinary performer Fuyuki Yamakawa and his “hard core
band of XXIII century”; the pure movement of Kaiji Moriyama; the Argentinian
artist Rodrigo Pardo; the Venezuelan Javier De Frutos with the
British Phoenix Dance Theatre; the German Felix Ruckert; iconoclastic
and talked-about artist, Motus, one of the Italian corps de ballet most
famous abroad, CoisCeim Dance Theatre, at the highest top in the Irish
scene, Liquid Loft of Chris Haring, awarded last year at the ImPuls Tanz
Festival in Vienna, the enthralling Nigel Charnok, the very young Laboratory
Dance Project-from Korea, and among the Italians, Francesco
Ventriglio of the corp de ballet of Teatro Scaligero and Simona Bucci and
her corp de ballet.
