ENGLISH LANGUAGE, GLOBALIZATION, AND THE TEACHER TRAINING
PROCESS
ABSTRACT
This article is the result of a bibliographic research and it aims at presenting a reflexion upon
the teaching-learning process of English as a global language, and the role of the teacher in
face of the challenges of our globalized society, that has the international exchange of
information as one of its main tonics. Its importance is on the fact that there is still a strong
tendency from schools as for choosing methods based on the teaching of grammar and on the
development of the reading skill only, which goes against the current needs of our society as
for the development of communicative competence, which implies the development all the
four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
