Betz 3.D2.1. General rules
Generally, the statement of dimension shows the height x width. The side for height and the side for width
are determined with references to the position in which the image would be viewed. Height is always
expressed first.
KRS 8.5D1. För allt bildmaterial utom bildband och stereobilder anges höjd och bredd avrundade uppåt till
närmaste hela centimetertal. För bildband och stereobilder, se 8.5D2 och 8.5D3. För ytterligare anvisningar
rörande mått för originalkonstverk, smådior, tekniska ritningar, stordior och väggplanscher, se 8.5D4 -

Ange höjd och bredd för objektet utan ram och montering (Se även 8.7B10.).
Betz 3D3.1. For single drawings and planographic and relief prints, generally record the dimensions of the
pictorial area, specified as such. If desirable, record the dimensions of the pictorial area including printed
text. For singel intaglio prints, record the dimensions of the plate mark (see also 3D5). In any case, precede
the dimension by the aspect that has been measured, that is, ”image,” ”image and text,” ”plate mark,” or
”sheet.”
Betz 3D5. Intaglio prints on trimmed sheets or with eradicated plate marks
When a sheet has been cut on or inside the plate mark subsequent to the creation of an intaglio print or the
plate mark is indistinguishable, give the dimensions of the sheet and explain in a note.
KRS 8.5D6. Tekniska ritningar och väggplanscher.
Ange höjd och bredd i utbrett och (i tillämpliga fall) sammanvikt skick.
Betz 3D4.1. For circular shapes, give the diameter, specified as such. Use the abbreviation ”diam.”
Betz 3D4.2. For oval shapes, give the major and minor axes, specified as ”oval.”
Betz 3.D4.3. For an irregular shape, measure by squaring it off at the greatest points with two transparent
triangles or strips of plastic. Use the abbreviation ”irreg.” and, if desirable, whatever word or phrase describes
the shape.
PRAXIS
Är objektets mått under 10 cm i någon ledd anges det exakta måttet i mm. Det är alltid största höjd och
bredd som anges.
Gravyrer (t.ex. Historiska planscher)
I enlighet med Betz anges plåtens avtryck för gravyrer. Ex. plåt 21 x 32 cm. Dessutom bör arkets storlek
anges enligt konstruktionen: plåt 21 x 32 cm, på ark 24 x 36 cm. Detta gäller om arket är ursprungligt,
annars är det att se som en montering.
Första bibliotek anger sitt exemplars arkmått, skulle nästa biblioteks exemplars mått skilja sig väsentligt
från detta mått läggs detta i en lokal anmärkning.
